All-star nominees announced

Oregon-bound running back Charles Neal of Esperanza is among the players nominated to play for the North in this summer's Brea Lions Club Orange County North-South Prep All-Star Football Game.

The USC-bound trio of linebacker Chris Galippo (Servite), quarterback Aaron Corp(Orange Lutheran) and two-way lineman Michael Reardon (Orange Lutheran) also were nominated by their coaches but are not expected to play in the July 13 game at Orange Coast College.

Neal, a first-team All-County selection, rushed for 1,431 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2006. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior has indicated he would like to play in the all-star game.

Anaheim's Lanny Booher is coaching the North team while Santa Margarita's Mike Jacot will coach the South.

Both rosters will be announced in the coming weeks.
