Galippo, Corp shard prep honor
BREA There wasn't much separation between Servite linebacker Chris Galippo and Orange Lutheran quarterback Aaron Corp when they met on the field in October.
Servite beat Orange Lutheran, 28-21, in double overtime. Galippo scored the winning touchdown.
On Thursday night, there was no separating the future USC teammates.
Galippo and Aaron Corp shared the Orange County Prep Football Player of the Year award, which was handed out at the Brea Community Center.
The award was part of the player recognition dinner for the Brea Lions Orange County North-South Prep All-Star Football Game on July 13 at Orange Coast College.
Neither Galippo nor Aaron Corp is playing in the game but each has impressive credentials.
In 2006, Galippo (6-foot-2, 230 pounds) was The Register's defensive player of the year for a second consecutive season. He recorded 98 total tackles and was a force on special teams and offense.
Aaron Corp (6-4, 190) was The Register's offensive player of the year. A dual-threat, he passed for 2,379 yards and rushed for 1,197 yards.
