Eight standouts from the Football Championship Subdivision are among the players who have accepted invitations to play in the 86th East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 22 at the Florida Citrus Bowl.
The East squad will be led by former NFL coach Dan Reeves and includes Missouri State offensive guard David Arkin, Delaware quarterback Pat Devlin and Richmond teammates Martin Parker, a defensive tackle, and Justin Rogers, a cornerback.
The West squad will be led by Wade Phillips, the former NFL head coach who recently became the defensive coordinator of the Houston Texans. His roster includes The Citadel cornerback Cortez Allen, Southern Illinois cornerback Korey Lindsey, Lehigh offensive lineman Will Rackley (who has switched from tackle to center) and Portland State tight end Julius Thomas.
The East-West Shrine Game, which benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children, is the longest-running college all-star football game. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
